The Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe saga, a football soap opera that has been going on for years, may soon have an unexpected ending.
At least, if the Spanish media, specifically Cadena SER, is to be believed. Today, they reported an interesting piece of information.
According to this media outlet, Real Madrid has given up on signing Paris Saint-Germain’s player, regardless of the fact that Mbappe could leave Paris as a free agent at the end of the season.
There are three reasons for this, according to the Spaniards.
The first reason is financial. Mbappe would require a staggering fee of €30,000,000 in addition to a massive salary, which would create certain issues in the “royal club” dressing room due to the wage hierarchy.
Additionally, the second reason is his preferred position on the field. The French international wishes to play on the left wing, where Vinicius Junior, a Brazilian who is currently irreplaceable at Real Ma
drid, already plays.
There is also the question of authority. Jude Bellingham has emerged as a leader on the field with incredible performances, so Mbappe would not be the central figure in the club.
The third reason cited is a breach of trust. There was an agreement between Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, and the player, promising that he would join the team after his previous contract expired. However, Mbappe soon signed a new contract with the French team.
