Finally, dad is free!!!

The family drama of Liverpool footballer comes to an end!

Luis Manuel Diaz, the father of Liverpool footballer Luis Diaz, has been released today in Colombia.

He spent the past 12 days in captivity with the rebel group National Liberation Army after being kidnapped along with his wife at a gas station in the small town of Barrancas.

Diaz’s mother, Silenis Marulanda, was later rescued by the police who set up roadblocks around the town near the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

Luis Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in 2022. The 26-year-old winger missed Liverpool’s matches against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth due to the ordeal he was going through, but then scored a goal against Luton to secure a point for his team, after which he displayed a message: “Freedom for dad.”
