Pereira Reigns!

One of the best fights in MMA sport this year was witnessed last night at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York.

Brazilian Alex  Pereira knocked out Czech Jiri Prohaska and claimed the championship belt in the light heavyweight category.

The fight, which marked the 295th UFC spectacle, had been highly anticipated, and its conclusion and the referee’s decision to possibly stop it and declare a technical knockout will surely spark controversy.

Prohaska, the Czech fighter, was on a fierce onslaught, but Pereira brutally countered him, causing Prohaska to end up on the floor. A series of strikes followed, and the referee deemed the fight over, even though Prohaska didn’t definitively relent.

Prohaska now holds a record of 29 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw, while Pereira has a professional MMA record of 9 wins and 2 losses.
